Walk-In Coolers & Freezers
A walk-in cooler or freezer that cannot maintain the proper temperature puts your inventory at risk. RBA provides professional service, repair, and installation for commercial walk-in coolers and freezers serving restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, warehouses, and other commercial facilities. We diagnose the cause, explain our findings, and perform the necessary repairs or installation.
Equipment We Service
- Walk-in coolers and cold rooms
- Walk-in freezers
- Combination cooler/freezer boxes
- Remote and self-contained refrigeration systems
- Evaporator and condensing units
- Doors, gaskets, panels, and hardware
What We Inspect
These are the areas we commonly evaluate during service. The exact cause of the problem can only be determined after an on-site inspection.
Temperature Not Maintaining
The walk-in runs warmer or colder than its set point or fluctuates between temperatures. We inspect the controls, airflow, refrigeration system, and defrost operation to determine the cause.
Ice or Frost Build-Up
Ice or frost on the evaporator, ceiling, or stored products is usually a symptom rather than the root problem. We inspect the defrost system, door seals, and sources of excess moisture entering the walk-in.
Doors, Gaskets & Panels
Worn door gaskets, sagging doors, damaged panels, and faulty door closers allow conditioned air to escape while warm, humid air enters the box. We inspect the entire enclosure as part of diagnosing temperature-related issues.
Controls & Monitoring
Thermostats, electronic controllers, and temperature sensors that are out of calibration or malfunctioning can cause inconsistent operation. We verify that the control system is accurately measuring and maintaining the proper temperature.
Drainage & Water Issues
Standing water, clogged drain lines, and frozen drains create sanitation and safety concerns. We inspect the complete drain system and clear or repair it as needed.
Installation & Replacement
We provide new walk-in cooler and freezer installations, refrigeration system replacements, equipment upgrades, and relocation services under our California C-38 Refrigeration contractor classification.
Service & Installation
Our service work includes diagnosing and repairing existing walk-in refrigeration systems, including refrigeration components, controls, defrost systems, drainage, and the walk-in enclosure itself.
Our installation services include new walk-in refrigeration systems, equipment replacements, and relocation projects performed under our California C-38 Refrigeration contractor license.
Work is performed under California Contractor License CSLB #985145, with classifications C-20 Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating & Air-Conditioning and C-38 Refrigeration.
If the issue extends beyond the walk-in refrigeration system—such as HVAC controls or connected mechanical equipment—RBA can service those systems as well, eliminating the need to coordinate with multiple contractors.
