Reach-In Coolers & Freezers

Reach-in refrigeration equipment works hard in busy commercial kitchens, and a unit that cannot maintain the proper temperature can disrupt daily operations. RBA provides professional service, repair, and installation for reach-in coolers, freezers, refrigerated prep tables, and merchandiser cabinets. We diagnose the cause of the problem, explain our findings, and discuss the recommended solution before any work begins.

Equipment We Service

  • Reach-in coolers and freezers
  • Glass-door merchandisers and display cabinets
  • Refrigerated prep and sandwich tables
  • Under-counter and back-bar units
  • Self-contained refrigeration systems
  • Door, hinge, and gasket hardware

What We Inspect

These are the areas we commonly evaluate during service. The exact cause of the problem can only be determined after an on-site inspection.

  • Cabinet not holding temperature

The unit runs warm, runs cold, or cycles unevenly. We check the controls, the sealed system, airflow around the evaporator, and whether the cabinet is loaded or sited in a way that works against it.

  • Doors, gaskets, and hinges

Reach-in doors are opened constantly. Worn gaskets, dropped hinges, and failed closers are among the most common reasons a cabinet stops performing, so we assess them as part of any temperature complaint.

  • Frost and condensation

Ice on the evaporator, sweating on the exterior, or water pooling inside. We look at defrost operation, door sealing, and humidity reaching the cabinet.

  • Noise, fans, and compressors

New or changed noise usually points somewhere specific. We check fan motors, mounts, and compressor behaviour rather than assuming the worst from the sound alone.

  • Controls and thermostats

A cabinet that behaves unpredictably often has a control reading something other than what you expect. We verify what the controls are actually measuring.

  • Installation and replacement

New cabinet installation, like-for-like replacement, and getting a unit properly sited, levelled, and ventilated so it can hold temperature.

Service & Installation

Service covers diagnosis and repair on cabinets already in place — sealed system, controls, defrost, fans, and door hardware. Installation covers new units, replacements, and connecting equipment into an existing kitchen layout.

Work is performed under California Contractor License CSLB #985145, with classifications C-20 Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating & Air-Conditioning and C-38 Refrigeration.

If the fault turns out to sit elsewhere — in controls, or in connected HVAC equipment — RBA handles that too, rather than passing you to another contractor.
